I'm afraid that I don't know much about Windows servers, so I think it would be best to ask your host what needs to be done so that PHP can write to that directory.

unfortunately, my site is hosted on windows. so i am unable to use my ftp program to change the permissions of my backup folder so that the backup plugin can write to it. thus, i get the following error message each time i try to run the backup:

WARNING: Your backup directory is NOT writable! We cannot create the backup files.

must i use an program like plesk or get my hosting provider to change the directory permissions?
