Astoundingly similar implementation to mine with the WP_BACKUP_DIR, and fairly similar with WP_CONTENT_DIR. You're obviously ahead of me, thank you.

You can submit patches or open tickets at the plugins' trac: http://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/

But I've already made this change for the development version of wp-db-backup, which I hope to release in stable form soon.

I've patched wp-db-backup so it copes with the new optional WP_CONTENT_DIR constant in WP2.6 which allows you to place the wp-content directory outside the main WordPress directory, and also to allow a backup dir outside the web root. Where can I submit this patch for consideration, please?
